New Leaf partnered with the NC Cooperative Extension Service to plant trees along the boarder at Alamance Battleground Historic site on Clapp Mill Rd and Highway NC 62.

New Leaf will complete design work and plant material assistance for plantings around Alamance County Chamber of Commerce's downtown office.

For this project New Leaf Society worked with Allied Churches of Alamance County in East Burlington to clean up and enhance the site around their facility.

In continuation of our Habitat for Humanity projects, New Leaf purchased all the planting materials (Red maples, oaks, and hollies) for an individual Eagle Scout project created by C. McDaniel in the neighborhood of Ben Court in Graham, NC.

This project includes a partnership with Alamance County Arts Council as part of New Leaf Society’s Public Art Initiative. This project has been converted to New Leaf Circle at Boone Station Drive and the art piece has been moved to Downtown Burlington.

New Leaf helped to add color and enhancements to the front entrance of the Burlington-Alamance Regional Airport along Highway 62 and N. Aviation Drive. This included working with the Burlington Airport Executive Board to provide a wonderful welcome area for visitors to and residents of Alamance County.

This project is a partnership with the City of Burlington to create a botanical garden and arboretum at Willowbrook Park in Burlington.  

This project is a partnership between the City of Burlington, New Leaf Society, and Sister Cities Foundation to enhance the greenspace area in Burlington City Park. The centerpiece of this project is a fountain given to the city from Soledad de Graciano Sanchez through the Burlington-Alamance Sister Cities Program.

New Leaf partnered with the City of Burlington to enhance Company Shops Market’s commitment in Downtown Burlington by improving the greenspace in the parking lot area behind their facility. 

This project involves enhancement to greenspace in the Downtown Burlington Depot area and along Webb Avenue. New Leaf Society is partnering with Burlington Downtown Corporation and City of Burlington for transformation of our center city.

The City of Mebane implemented a new streetscape enhancement program and New Leaf partnered with the City to purchase plant materials for the upcoming planters on Clay Street.

New Leaf partnered with Eastern Alamance High School to enhance the circle drive and embellish the island along Mebane Rogers Rd.. NLS funded the landscaping project and created a design. Local garden clubs will put seasonal color around the sign. Alumnus and owner of Lawn Service Mebane, Ron Wrightenberry installed the plants, along with Eastern High School students, and oversaw the clean up of the sitesite.

The City of Burlington and New Leaf worked together to enhance the islands along Edgewood Avenue  near Turrentine Middle School. The City of Burlington prepped the islands and New Leaf provided the plant material and the contract for installation.

New Leaf has added trees and low level plantings around the sign at Eva Barker Park on North Main Street. This is a Burlington Police Department project working to improve the park with green space enhancements and the addition of a new playground.

New Leaf purchased the plant materials for this new park located on Graham street across from the Burlington Royals Stadium. This park will be maintained by the Burlington Parks and Recreation Department for future community enjoyment.

This project includes island and street tree enhancements in the Main City Historic District. Accomplished in cooperation with the City of Burlington, the Historic Preservation Commission, and the city planning board, the extensive landscaping project protects the historical significance and integrity of the street  while replacing deteriorating trees, shrubs and flowers.

Partnership between New Leaf, City of Graham, and Alamance County Arts Council to beautify and connect the campus between Graham Public Library,the Alamance County Arts Council building, and the Children’s Museum of Alamance County off S. Main St. in Graham.

The 51 trees planted along Grand Oaks Boulevard enhance the new road construction by NCDOT. We partnered with City of Burlington for maintenance after our two year establishment period.

7 large aborvitae trees were donated by a property owner to be relocated to a new site at Highland Elementary where the trees will be maintained.

The Bailey Fountain, located at Main Street and South Church Street in Burlington, NC, was gifted to the city in 1975 by the Bailey family members honoring their father’s service as an elected official.  The existing brick fountain was removed and was replaced by a marble, three-column, artful fountain for a dramatic gateway entrance to the central downtown area.

New Leaf Project list includes adding additional trees and plants, turf improvement, and new lighting to compliment the beautiful artful marble John A. Bailey Fountain.

This project featured the installation of an art piece, purchased by the City of Mebane, along with landscape plantings to the area around the Mebane Historical Society Museum in the Recreation Complex North.

This project involves island plantings on the newly constructed, enhanced lanes of Mebane Street in Burlington, NC.  Construction began in May 2009 to widen the 2.6-mile segment between Chapel Hill and Huffman Mill roads from two lanes to four lane.

Through this project, New Leaf Society will continue the partnership with Alamance County Arts Council and the City of Burlington to establish artwork county-wide. The Boone Station Dr. round about is now officially named ‘New Leaf Circle’ and will feature “Chasing the Wind” by sculptor Jeff Hackney.

New Leaf updated and added new plantings to an existing site already under the maintenance of the City of Burlington. We partnered with Gilmore Landscapes for the installation and the City of Burlington for stream buffer repair and tree enhancements.

This New Leaf Project included the planting of 17 Natchez Crepe Mrytles and Sugar Time Crabapple trees to compliment the already existing trees planted.

New Leaf put the finishing touches on a beautification project at the 15-acre Red Slide Park, a historic riverside site on the banks of Haw River, which opened in 2009.  The project is part of a long-term revitalization initiative for Haw River, NC.

New Leaf planted 18 crepe myrtles at Robinson Park in Burlington, NC, a public park owned and operated by City of Burlington Recreation & Parks Department.

This 2-lane, divided road connects South Church Street to Front Street in central Burlington, NC.  NLS partnered with the City of Burlington to install additions to the grassy medians. These additions consist of tree plantings, including soil preparation and mulch application through the entire corridor.

In this project New Leaf Society enhanced one island with low color plantings located close to the entrance of Village at Brookwood.

This project enhanced the island surrounding the Bailey Fountain on South Church Street by adding trees and plants.

Partnership with NCDOT, Unichem, Inc., and the Town of Haw River to enhance the entrance to Haw River on Highway 70 East and West Main Street.

This project was funded by NCDOT  as an allocation requested by New Leaf to continue the median enhancement from our University Drive (South) project from Highway 70 to Westbrook Ave.

The City of Burlington partnered with NCDOT to supplement the mowing schedule for University Drive from Highway 70S to Grand Oaks/Kirkpatrick Rd. and New Leaf Society partnered with Burlington to enhance the median areas.

This project is a partnership with NCDOT, Town of Elon, and Town of Gibsonville to enhance the new road construction and overpass around the northern part of University Drive from Highway 100 to Manning Ave.

New Leaf removed trees and replaced/ added plantings around the front lawn at Walter M. Williams High School along South Church Street, Country Club Drive, and Arlington Avenue.

This project will add new plantings and include median enhancements to the islands along West Davis Street. This project is in partnership with the City of Burlington.

This project is a partnership with North Carolina Railroad and Norfolk Southern to rehabilitate the Webb Avenue Bridge at Glen Raven by cleaning, applying anti-graffiti paint primer, and painting the  concrete abutments and wing walls for preservation.

New Leaf Society purchased the plant material for a project by 6 Eagle Scouts that focuses on the enhancement and improvement of the entrance and creek area of Willowbrook Park. The Eagle Scout project includes removing invasive plant species along the creek and replanting native varieties of trees, adding plantings around the playground area and entrance, and repainting the bridge.
