John A. Bailey Fountain

$45,000
June 2009

The Bailey Fountain, located at Main Street and South Church Street in Burlington, NC, was gifted to the city in 1975 by the Bailey family members honoring their father’s service as an elected official.  The existing brick fountain was removed and was replaced by a marble, three-column, artful fountain for a dramatic gateway entrance to the central downtown area. The triangle-shaped base marble fountain will include uplighting and some new landscaping changes.

The fountain features a steady stream of water nine months of the year and will be a year-round piece of art, even without the water in the months of extreme cold.

As you pass by, appreciate and celebrate the beauty of the fountain and our abundant natural resources.
