Bryce Lane: Creating a Community for All Seasons

Bryce Lane on Green Spaces, Quality of Life and the Local Economy

As you drive around Alamance County, have you ever considered the role of public green spaces? Why put time, money and effort into planting trees, shrubs and flowers when a concrete median or patch of grass will do the job?

New Leaf Society and Alamance County Landscapers Association hosted a free seminar on March 13, 2013 at Elon University with Bryce Lane, national award-winning instructor in the Department of Horticultural Science at N.C. State University and host of the PBS “In the Garden” television program. Drawing from more than 30 years of horticulture instruction and green space planning experience, Bryce drew the connection between curb appeal and community vitality. There was a question-and-answer session with Bryce at the end of the seminar, followed by a complimentary reception sponsored by New Leaf Society. Thank you to everyone who attended the event!
