The Bailey Fountain was gifted to the city in 1975 by the Bailey family honoring their father’s service as an elected official. The existing brick fountain was removed and replaced by an artful, three-column marble fountain to create a dramatic gateway entrance into downtown Burlington.

In 2010, NLS invested additional funds for landscaping. As of 2026, the fountain is no longer operable.
