For its first project, NLS transformed this roadway by planting 158 trees, including ‘Bracken’s Brown Beauty’ magnolias, Chesnut oaks, ‘Natchez’ crape myrtles, ‘Nellie Stevens’ hollies, and Nuttall oaks. After many years, the oaks have matured to form a glorious canopy along the corridor.

Additions and Renovations: In 2011, NLS made an additional Initial Investment of $7,500 to add low, colorful perennials in the median near the entrance to Village at Brookwood. In 2025, NLS invested an additional $20,000 to lift the tree canopy to accommodate taller vehicles, such as trucks and buses.
