For this partnership, 103 planters were purchased to enhance the streetscapes of Downtown Burlington. The Burlington Downtown Corporation recruits volunteers to participate in filling the planters each spring and fall, while the city selects the flowers and takes care of watering. NLS purchases the plant material with a total investment of around $6,000 annually. The project was paused in 2024 while downtown undergoes major utilities upgrades.
