Original Project: NLS completed design work and plant material assistance for plantings around the Chamber’s downtown office in 2015. These funds were presented in a matching grant format in partnership with other Chamber members to donate materials and labor for installation. Plants included: ‘Blue Cascade’ distylium, ‘Mardi Gras’ abelia, ruby loropetalum, ‘Emerald Heights’ distylium, spreading yew, ‘Rainbow’ leucothoe, gold mop cypress, ‘Knock Out’ roses.
Additions and Renovations: In 2024, NLS and the Alamance Chamber partnered with landscape architect Matt Roberts to create an updated landscaping plan for the Chamber. Seasonal color and interest were added along the front and side of the building, and the parking areas were enhanced with new plantings, trees, and a bluestone pathway. NLS contributed $10,000, with the Chamber investing an additional $10,695 in the project. The plant list included: daisies, hydrangeas, camellias, juniper, liriope, and gingko trees.
