An important goal of New Leaf Society is to select projects that will create a high impact, represent excellent quality, require little maintenance and will sustain over time. These standards are considered in every aspect from choosing the site, plant materials and the vendors. Selecting a New Leaf Society project based on that goal is achieved by our list of established criteria. Each site is measured by the criteria, scored by the Technical Advisory Committee, recommended to and voted on by the Board of Directors. The criteria consist of the following:

  • Cost to Transform Site
  • Ease of Project
  • High Traffic/Visibility of Site
  • Ease of Ownership/Site Control
  • Level of Support by Partners
  • Maintenance Ease
  • Neighborhood Impact
  • Demographics of Site
  • Economic Urgency
  • Public Safety/Security
