NC DOT Enhancement Project

On June 6, 2016, the NCDOT, a valuable partner to New Leaf, reopened the I-85/40 Westbound Rest Area complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The enhancement project featured a Textile Mill Theme with features from old mills, such as support beams from the Alamance Cotton Mill. The ceremony included a history of textile mills in Alamance County by Textile Heritage Museum Director Jerri Nall and appearances by State Transportation Secretary Nick Tennyson and Glen Raven, Inc. President Leib Oehmig.
